The recent Town Council Management Report released by the Ministry of National Development (MND) has raised concerns that the Worker's Party run ward has not been been collecting S&CC payments from all their 55,000 residents. According to the report, an estimated 39,000 residents are subsidising the remaining 16,000 who cannot, or have chosen not to pay their S&CC. This is worrying as a town council cannot operate without money.
Based on AHPETC's last financial report by their own independent auditor, the AHPETC has an operating deficit of close to $750,000. Without income, the Town Council will surely go bankrupt.
